Yes. SS is amazing in high lvls, both at solo and at a party. 

 

For solo it has range, tanks well, and remember- it has it's ideal DPS with 1h. U can even kite with it ( can even get a running speed hat and abuse it's kite to solo impossible cases). 

 

Cheap too, extremely powerful.

 

If I was to pick 1 class, for overall game experience, by it's strength alone- it would be SS ( Good PvE - PvP balance).

 

I loved SS until they changed the way he stands on the log in screen.  My OCD hates it sooo much that I wiped out all of my SS because I cant stand it. Whys he gotta stand like that when the rest of them stand up straight? It looks so stupid.
