Regarding equipment lock

Hi I was trying out the new equipment lock feature by right clicking the lock icon . However I realized it only take effect for the current login session (pink lock icon). If I logout and login again all equipment are unlocked (brown unlock icon). May I know is this an intended feature?

Just to make myself clear. I want to know if the equipment lock feature is meant to last till you explicitly unlock it or till you log off. Because for my case I expected my equipment to remain locked after I logout and log back in. Apparently it's not.
