Diell 1,036 Posted September 17 [Community Discussion] Mechanic Tier 1 Skill: Adding a Burn Effect to Mechanical Bomb Hello everyone! Continuing the discussion on improving the Mechanic (MS) class balance, I'd like to bring up a skill from our early-game kit that could use some love in the current meta: Mechanical Bomb (Tier 1). Nowadays, almost all fire-element skills in the game feature satisfying burn effects that add consistent value to a character's toolkit. While the MS has decent burst, as a tank class, it inherently lacks the sustained DPS of dedicated damage dealers. The goal here is not to turn the MS into an overpowered solo killer or stray away from its core tank identity. Instead, it's about giving the class more flexibility. Currently, an MS has to choose between a power build and a tank build, completely sacrificing one role to perform the other. Because of this rigid tradeoff, improving an area-of-effect skill like Mechanical Bomb would create a great balance point. It wouldn't make the MS an incredible DPS machine, but adding a Burn (queimadura) mechanic would give the class a much-needed touch of supplementary damage, ensuring the MS isn't rendered entirely useless when trying to contribute beyond just standing there as a pure meatshield. Why a Burn Effect on Mechanical Bomb Makes Sense: Bridging the Build Gap: When opting for a tank setup, your damage plummets. A burn effect scaling on a Tier 1 skill allows tank-build MS players to still contribute a baseline of damage over time without needing full offensive gear. Modernizing Old Skills: Most modern fire skills in the game come packed with status effects like burn. Updating Mechanical Bomb brings it in line with contemporary game design, making an iconic early skill relevant again in higher-level maps. Utility Without Overpowering: A damage-over-time mechanic fits the Mechanic's theme perfectly (explosives and engineering) without converting the class into a top-tier damage dealer. It rewards positioning and skill use during pulls. Let's Debate! How do you feel about giving Mechanical Bomb a burn effect? Do you think this would help bridge the gap for MS players who want a bit more presence in maps without abandoning their defensive roots? Drop your thoughts below so we can pitch a well-rounded suggestion to the staff! @Overlady 3 Share this post Link to post

I'd love to see MS get a debuff skill that weakens mobs to Fire damage, similar to how Mage's Watornado reduces enemies' resistance to Electric damage. As a tank, this would help a lot, especially since many classes have Fire-based skills. Maybe it could be applied to Mechanical Bomb? It wouldn't need to deal burn damage itself, but it could cover enemies in oil or fuel, making them more vulnerable to Fire damage and increasing the party's overall DPS.
