Dark Stone Issue

I'm pretty sure I'm doing this wrong but cant seem to atk or do anything the the stone with the mining pick while i was in dark sanctuary. Any help is appreciated. Ty

remove the skill from the left click.  to do this, click on the fist on the skill window with your left click.  u should then be able to mine.
