how to sod effectively as a mage

im a 13x mage with very nice items, staff 126 -0-0 +17, i go with oredo/sapphire force but i always loose to people with mixed 126/120 staff lvl 12x 13x

 

i guess im doing something wrong at sod, how to get maximum score at sod?
