Xmas Event Giftbox on Christmas day?

Hi!

How was this supposed to work? I've planted trees on christmas day the 25th, and came to see if I got a box today, but didnt receive anything? It was the same for my mate, did it work for anyone else?

 

Also, how are the socks supposed to work? I've had them in invetory and tried to gift something to other players, but havent received anything from Xmas girl...
