Quick tip how to hunt with MG: don't, just don't.

 

Mages hunt a lot slower than hunter/killer like auto mechs, achers, atas. Fire Element(FE) is also a lot less tanky than metal golems and wolves.

The only possible way to hunt with mage is to lure 3 or 4 mobs, and Stone Spike(SS) them. However, the time it take to focus monsters' aggro onto FE take quite a lot of time, and then when your FE is about to die and you can only replace it after it is death, meaning that you'll have to re-aggro the mobs.

Death ray even with Amplify maxed is no where near automech/acher/ata 's kill speed (they have much higher crit rate, bonus dmg to specific monster types, and skills to massively increase attack speed).

Exp and bellatra instead.

If you like hunting, have an auto-mech later
