thanhame3 0 Report post Posted April 13, 2015 The idea of taking some gold off the sever is nice and all, but i think that this feature is the least important to add. The new clan system and caravan hoppy are much more useful.
JoeHandsome 1 Report post Posted April 13, 2015 In the World Cup event we had multiply of matches to bid on each day (More than one 1 Jackpot). Here we only have 1 Jackpot and it is draw every 3rd day. But ye we will first see how it works when it is in-game There might be some changes. The idea of taking some gold off the sever is nice and all, but i think that this feature is the least important to add. The new clan system and caravan hoppy are much more useful. You have the chance to become a millionaire here! 8)
thanhame3 0 Report post Posted April 13, 2015 I have a feeling that people will lose interest in the feature within a week, especially since there are chances that no one will win the jackpot I think the winning pick strategy should be a 1 random winner pick instead of 1 random combination. Which means that there is always 1 winner. That will always give players incentives to buy tickets, since the less ticket buyers, the higher the winning chance (although the jackpot is smaller). A simple ticket with a sequential buying number and a random winning number at the end of the third day. Just like a raffle. Giving people the opportunity to chose the numbers will discourage people, since it feels like its not just about luck, and if they didn't win they would feel like its their faults. Yea, human mind is strange. Particularly, i'm pretty sure i would participate way more if it was like a raffle lottery with nothing but an unchangeable sequential buying number on the ticket. That will always give players incentives to buy tickets, since the less ticket buyers, the higher the winning chance (although the jackpot is smaller). that idea has its risks too. sure, it might sound hard for people to loose interest, but one random winner everytime? gold value will decrease just like when hellion was released, the game's economy is just beginning to come back to a decent, healthy state and this would colapse it again. since 20% of the ticket cost will be erased (250k), the total amount of gold will always decrease when number of participant >100. The system just has to make sure to inform people of number of participants, if there are less participants, there will be more incentive for people to participate( as the winning chance increases), it will ensure stable interest of people on the lottery, which means stable decrease in the total amount of gold. If the winning combination strategy is used, the total amount of gold will stop decreasing when people lost interest in the lotto, as they stop buying the ticket since it's likely that no one is going to win, as the winning chance is constant at 1/729 per ticket, less participants means smaller jackpot, which leads to less interest in the lotto. The reason this strategy works in real life is partially because people face financial pressure everyday, they feel that if they spend a little of their income on a ticket, if it wins, it will solve their financial problem, so they constantly have incentive. There is no financial pressure like that in the game. Side note: GMs can go further in promoting the lottery by having a short interview with the winner, posted on forum. It'll serve as an advertisement
