perfect and aging question

If you have a perfect item and you start to age it.  If you use copper ore to keep it from breaking but it fails aging, will the stats change as well, making it not perfect anymore?

 

Also, if you have aged an un-perfect item all the way to +22, can you make it perfect in the coin shop after it has already been aged?
