Language Barrier

Hey, I've recently returned to this server after a 3 year break from Pristontale. Back then I remember there being a big English-speaking community.

However since I've got back it seems like most of the server is Brazilian, Spanish, Philipino.

I've got no problem with different cultures, no racism intended in this topic.

I'm just interested as to know where the English community has gone to, maybe they're hiding, and I havn't met enough of them, I dunno.

Afterall I havn't been back long, but seriously it seems like whoever I speak to there's a Language barrier because nobody understands what I'm saying, which is ironic to say this Server is supposed to be mainly an English-speaking one.

 

So, are the English people just hiding, or is it really just rare to find an English speaker now?

Since most of the server is from vietnam and really a few of them speak english, yes it's more difficult to find someone that speaks english

 

 

edit: i know my english isn't the best, but what can i do? we don't speak english in brazil

Philipino speaks english as their second language

I'm brazilian and as u can see i can speak english, u dunno, but i think it isn't that difficult to find someone speaking english

Oh Vietnam? Havn't met any Vietnamese players yet actually.

But no, obviously I don't have a problem with where people are from, it's just depressing when most people I talk to can't speak/understand English, and it's supposed to be an English server.

 

But you for example, your English is fine, and we can both understand each other, I just havn't met many people like that. :\

Story of my life man, I always find low levels who speak english etc, other than that though I mostly know people in H or MTW that speak english and they all ahve strict level requirements

Im guessing but i could be completely wrong that the european/americans are playing the more evolved games these days like WoW/ Ps3/Xbox online which are just a little bit more expensive to play and lets be honest, most ppl from br/vietnam arent the richest ppl on earth so they play games like these

^Yeah that's what I've been doing tbh - xBox etc. I dunno why I just felt like getting back into the the old days and playing PT again, but when I tried ePT it was officially dead, there's barely anybody online, so I thought, why not return towt! And that's when I noticed it's no longer RenaissancePT. O:

Yea...I found Revrunner online yesterday and it is in face the old revrunner, but he said hes not playing seriously, just for fun...then again thats what i said.

 

BUt still... I want an influx of the old school players...

 

I wish we could do like a event like, x2 XP for every new character created until level 100, get more people in the game and stoked about rPT, and willing to play it without hacks and all that garbage

I agree with you in the point that just one language will make things easier, but i think it's not an barrier at all.

 

Of course many people doesn't speak other language than thenselves mother one, but no blames.

 

Please notice i'm trying not to be aggressive, so i feel sorry if i look like that for ya. It's not my intent at all.

 

Native english speakers are lucky since english is a global language, and many countries have an effort to learn it.

 

I'ts far harder if you don't know english to get into an english game then if you are a navite english speaker and try to get int another's language game. several people will show helpful.
