About ring of power quest

The 2nd ring of power quest hunting igolation is very hard. I've spent about 3 hours and maybe killed a few hundred and still havent received the quest item yet. I'm wondering if its hard on purpose.

I've seen some other people not be able to complete that quest too.

I think it's hard on purpose. I took me a lot of hours to complete the quest. All about luck.

Can you complete this quest in a party? I have made 3 more hours of hunting igolations in / out of a party without completing this quest. so now 6 hours of killing hundreds of them so im wondering whats going on here. Any suggestions are welcome.

If you are in a party, the character who needs the ring must deal the killing blow on igolations in order to have a chance to receive the ring.

suggestion: go with a ms friend to tank for u and kill the mobs alone, you'll eventually get them  it took me a looong time to get it too, but it's been easier nowdays, a friend got the 2 rings in the same day, a few months ago
