Where are the three servers located in the world?

I was wondering this because I'd like to pick the one closest to me for optimal connection. However I suspect they may be in the same location?

I believe they are all in the same location.

 

however it would be smart if they were to diversify them to that different geographic regions can have the best connection for them!!

 

Server A should centrally locate and then M and O placed on different continents.

 

A, in the best average location to serve the majority (probably in Europe) since HG and events take place here.

 

and then M and O placed on different continents.

 

M in North Central or South America

 

O in Asia, South Pacific or someplace in that region

If the servers weren't located in the same place, I dont think we would be able to transfer our character from one server to another

yeah the server is located in the region of the servers timezone

im sure they can make that work. but it could cause latency issues? and maybe this is why it is not done?

Perfect idea but a very complex and expensive one.

Having sub servers from a main server located at different places in the world requires some thinking and trickery to work. The game database is still just one, and then it will share and constantly update it's data from many different places. Things can get out of sync and some race conditions may happen.

 

The cost will also be a lot higher. Hosting the server on each country means you have to pay for 3 datacenters individually. Also it will triple the staff work - to get all 3 hosts to work in perfect sync and same ambient.


What can be done and would be much less complex would be different MAIN servers for each country. That's what most games does and i'm not sure if Wartale has the demand for it, since it will require everyone to start over.



You can check the ingame IP through Task Manager and then search for it's country. Last time i've checked it it was still in France.
