Can i buy crystals from a npc? and is there any npc sellings the quest items, for example, the horn tail and whatever from the wolfs? crap is annoying

No there isn't a npc that sell horn tail from wolfs, but the wolf spawn rate is pretty high. You should be able to knock out all 3 in 1 night. I've done it quite a few times on my mules, and never had a problem finding the wolves.
