How exactly does resurrection work?

Whenever I use it next to a dead party member, sometimes it doesn't work, and sometimes it does (or it could just be their rebirth scroll).

How come I can't revive them?

it dont wast res when sacer use hers res

but if u dont have res in ur char you will lose xp

Mine is on 10, and I cast it next to the corpse.
